William Henry Harrison has an authentically restored home in Vincennes, Indiana that is open for tours Tuesdays through Saturdays. He built this home when he came to the Indiana Territory as its first Governor. The home was built between 1802-1804 by Harrison as a family home, governmental, social and cultural center as well as a fortress to protect people amidst the hostile wilderness of the times.
